Restoration Standards in a Local Historic District
Compton Heights is a Local Historic Ditrict: View Ordinance
To maintain integrity of the district, certain standards must be followed: View Restoration Standards
In addition, it is protected by a variety of deed restrictions. Many St. Louis neighborhoods were destroyed during tough economic times, as their stately homes were converted into boarding houses, and suffered from disrepair. The restrictions enforced by Compton Heights allowed the neighborhood to survive intact.
